Event Details

Get ready for Ski to Sea, or anything else! The Silver Lake Time Trials are not a race and welcomes riders of all abilities to challenge themselves or just enjoy the courses.

 

Categories

The categories for this event are by Bike Type, Male or Female, and Age. The Short Course will start at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Long Course at 9:00 a.m. Rewards for every category include medals and bragging rights!

 

Green Practices

This event observes Zero Waste, Carbon Off-set and Green practices. Please remember to carpool and recycle everything you can. Waste nothing, except calories!

This event features the Green Fee. This fee goes towards helping support regional environmental and educational platforms that help the community and our planet.  In 2008, the NorKa Foundation gave over $4000 through the Whatcom Community Foundation to: Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Re-Sources of Bellingham, the Whatcom Land Trust and local cancer care organizations. 

 

Directions and Parking

From Bellingham, go East on HWY 542 (Mount Baker Highway) for 26 miles until you reach Maple Falls. In Maple Falls take a left on Silve Lake Road. The Silver Lake Park is 3.5 miles out.

PLEASE try and carpool. Parking is available but do arrive early. Overnight camping or lodging is also available. The map of this event course is available on our Web site. For any additional details please see RIDE542.com.

 

Event Road Rules: Please read and obey.

  • This is an open course, roads are OPEN to all traffic.
  • Please obey ALL legal rules of the road.
  • Stay to the right, except to pass other riders.
  • NO drafting (no riding within two bike lengths of another rider).
  • Yield to vehicles at turn-arounds - cars have the right of way.
  • No warming up/cooling down on Silver Lake Road.
  • Remember: This is not a race... it's not worth the risk.
  • SLT is a "no stress" event... so relax, go with the flow, and have fun!
